I first started training in Zen Do Kai in 2002 shortly after I moved to Christchurch. I initially came to train to learn how to defend myself. I ended up staying for the fun, friendly atmosphere and to learn new skills. It’s great to be able to train in such a supportive family environment.
I became a Shodan-Ho in December 2005. During 2005 I also started to help out with the kids class at both the Riccarton and Cashmere Dojo’s. It’s great to start to give back to the club from what I have gained in my training.
My next challenge is to grade for Shodan.
I have learnt a lot about myself since I joined and look forward to continue to grow as a person as I progress in Zen Do Kai.
