Prior to joining Proactive martial Arts I did highland dancing for 14 years.
I was forced to stop dancing after I developed RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) in my legs and so I started looking for something else I could do for fun and fitness. After watching my younger cousins achieve their junior brown belts I decided to give Martial Arts a go. A number of years later I have now achieved my probationary 1st degree Black belt.

Proactive Martial Arts has given me the opportunity to improve my health and fitness in a fun, friendly and safe environment. During this time I have learned skills in self defence and my self-confidence continually increases each week.

More recently I have been helping instruct at the Templeton Proactive Panthers (Kids Karate) which is giving me the leadership experience necessary to set my next goal of full 1st degree Black belt instructor.
Watching these children achieve their goals and seeing their enthusiasm and confidence increase each week has been a wonderful and rewarding experience.
